Europa looks like a giant, cracked ice ball, but scientists believe that beneath its frozen surface lies a massive, salty ocean. This hidden ocean could have more than twice the water of all of Earth’s oceans combined, making it one of the best places in our solar system to search for alien life. Where there’s water, there could be life.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A Special Delivery from Earth<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the most exciting part: the Europa Clipper is carrying a message from humanity. Attached to the spacecraft is a metal plate, called the “Vault Plate,” with some amazing features:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • You Could Be on Board!<\/strong> A tiny microchip holds the names of thousands of ordinary people who signed up to send their names on this incredible journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A Universal Word:<\/strong> The word “Water” is engraved in 103 different languages, showing how important it is to all of us.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A Poem and a Puzzle:<\/strong> It carries a poem written for Europa and the famous Drake Equation, a formula used to guess how many alien civilizations might exist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    The journey is long. The Europa Clipper won’t reach Jupiter’s moon until April 2030. After it arrives, it will spend years sending back data that could change how we see the universe forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
